W. Greg Elwell, DMD
Dr. Greg Elwell earned his bachelor’s degree in biology from Augusta State University, where he was a student-athlete in both baseball and cross country. He then earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the Medical College of Georgia. With more than three decades of experience, Dr. Elwell has built lifelong relationships with patients and their families throughout the Canton community.
Dr. Elwell is an active member of Spear Education, where he participates in annual hands- on training in Scottsdale, Arizona, as well as ongoing study clubs. A well-known leader in the dental community, Spear provides continuing education for dentists committed to higher quality, comprehensive care, the latest technological advancements, and improved outcomes for patients. Dr. Elwell is also a member of the American Dental Association, Georgia Dental Association, and Hinman Dental Society. His belief that “commitment equals improved success for our patients” reflects his dedication to continuing education and excellence in patient care.
At the core of Dr. Elwell’s practice is giving back to the community. He is an active participant in the Baptist Mobile Health Ministry where he provides uncompensated dental care to patients in need across North Georgia. Beyond dentistry, Dr. Elwell is a devoted husband to his wife, Kim. They have two children: Jack, who resides in Canton, and Carson, who lives in Birmingham, Alabama with her husband, Miles. In his free time, Dr. Elwell enjoys trail running, hiking, hunting, fishing, and gardening.
As the owner of Elwell Family Dentistry, Dr. Elwell feels truly blessed by the calling of his profession. He shares, “I believe God has put me in this field for a reason. Every patient and every situation is different, and I enjoy serving others by using my hands and my mind to improve people’s lives.” His mission is simple: to help patients achieve healthy, confident smiles that last a lifetime.

James A. (Jim) Stevens, DMD
Dr. Stevens is a native Atlantan from Tucker. He attended Lakeside High School where he played football, a sport he enjoys watching to this day. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia before obtaining his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Prior to joining Elwell Family Dentistry in 2024, Dr. Stevens provided over 40 years of compassionate dental care to patients in Duluth and Cherokee County.
Outside the office, Dr. Stevens and his wife, Susan, enjoy spending time with their three accomplished adult children, a dentist, a veterinarian, and a farrier (horseshoeing business owner). Dr. Stevens and his wife share a passion for horseback riding, woodworking, and the great outdoors.
With seven grandchildren bringing joy to their lives, family remains the heart of everything Dr. Stevens does. He strongly feels that, “After decades in dentistry, thoughtful care matters most. My work is most meaningful when it improves someone’s quality of life.”

Dr. Jim Hutson, DDS
Dr. Hutson is a native of Maryville, Tennessee and has called Marietta, Georgia home for more than 55 years. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry in 1985 and began his private practice shortly thereafter. For more than four decades, Dr. Hutson has proudly served his patients and community with dedication, integrity, and compassion.
A strong believer in service, Dr. Hutson has been deeply involved in civic and charitable organizations throughout his career. He was an active member of the Metro-Marietta Kiwanis Club for 25 years, a member of the Cobb County Chamber of Commerce for more than 30 years, served as a Commissioner on the Cobb County Commission for Children and Youth, and sat on the board of MUST Ministries. His service also extends beyond the local community through dental mission work in Central America and participation with the Baptist Mobile Dental Unit.
Dr. Hutson has been an active member of his church for over 20 years and has served as a deacon since 1999. He has been married to his wife, Linda Hollenbeck Hutson, for 46 years, and together they raised four adult children and are proud grandparents to five grandchildren. In his free time, he enjoys hunting, fishing, golfing, and studying history—especially genealogy.
Additionally, Dr. Hutson is on staff at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital and brings extensive experience as a general dentist with a special focus on restorative and cosmetic dentistry. He is particularly known for his expertise in treating bite concerns and TMJ disorders, helping patients achieve improved comfort, function, and long-term oral health. Dr. Hutson shares, “Serving others well has always been at the heart of why I practice dentistry.”
